200th ANNIVERSARY This year, Ombudsman Saskatchewan, along with ombudsman offices across Canada and around the world, will mark the 200th anniversary of the first parliamentary ombudsman appointed in Sweden in 1809. Since that first appointment, the role of ombudsman has grown and expanded in many countries and has taken many forms. COMING SOON: "PRACTICE ESSENTIALS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE TRIBUNALS" Ombudsman Saskatchewan and the Dispute Resolution Office (DRO) have worked together to create a new guide for tribunal members. Its goal is to assist them in offering fair services to citizens - from the first step to the final decision. Doubling as a desk reference and training workbook, the guide will be available later this year as part of a training package that the DRO will offer tribunals.
